To help BRCA gene mutation induced ovarian cancer patients, the Hong Kong Hereditary Breast Cancer Family Registry launched the Free BRCA Ovarian Cancer Drugs Programme in 2018 to help disadvantaged families receive the most suitable medication.
The usual recurrence of ovarian cancer is around 5 months, among patients who are receiving the targeted therapy of this programme can prolong this period to as long as more than 24 months currently.
